Fogo Island Inn is a Michelin-star hotel found in the remote and breathtaking landscape of Newfoundland and Labrador. Designed by talented architects, it combines both modern luxury with the island’s rugged beauty and cultural history.
The main objective was to reimagine its brand and develop a full suite of assets that embody its new unique character.
Based on its surroundings, the inspiration comes from the raw beauty of its rugged coastline with a modern aesthetic. The intense contrast between these elements creates a beautiful harmony.
The result includes a logo inspired by the fog that takes over the coastline, featuring a movable white bar in the middle. This subtle detail reflects the changing nature of the landscape, it creates a sense of movement.
The font was made to reference the geometry of the architecture and how all the windows are rectangular. This logo became the foundation for the entire brand identity, shaping a design system that feels both dynamic and connected to its surroundings.
Working on this project made me realize how nature and modernity can really compliment each other so well. It’s gorgeous to see how these two elements, so different on the surface, can come together to create something that feels both fresh and timeless.
